【汇率机制】保持货币对外价值相对稳定的内在要素。通常包括:货币价值及汇率的确定、汇率波动的最大幅度、汇率的干预方法。例如，布雷顿森林制度下的汇率机制为美元与黄金挂钩、各国货币与美元挂钩、允许汇率波幅为平价汇率的士1%。70年代以后，各国实行浮动汇率制，有的货币实行钉住汇率，与某一货币固定比价;有的货币实行联合浮动，规定货币比价、波动幅度及干预措施。
