门画 是我国民间年画的一种特有形式。过去叫“门神”，含有“御凶”的意思。旧时农历新年，在两扇门上贴一对门神，以祈平安吉祥；同时，也为装饰门板。古代门神画的是“神荼”“郁垒”，是《山海经》神话中人物。传说他俩会用“苇索”捉鬼，捉到的鬼用“桃弓”射死喂虎。因此古时为着辟邪，就把神荼、郁垒像和老虎画在大小门上。唐代改为秦琼、敬德。传说唐太宗有病，秦琼（字叔宝），尉迟恭（字敬德），自愿镇守宫门，以防邪魔扰乱。太宗为免其监护之苦，叫人把他俩人的肖像画在门上来代替。从此民间就仿效起来，秦琼、敬德也就成为“门神”了。此外，亦有的门画绘戏曲故事、武财神和鸡猫等动物的。
