Based on the experience with more than 10 years running shell mould casting line and with the application of various resin coated sands,some technical problems of resin coated sands for shell mould castings were discussed.

Combining with the data of four geological sections,the deep crustal structure and characters in Tanlu fault zone were studied.

In order to apply such steel to the manufacturing of spiral case of turbine for Sanbanxi Hydropower Station,the welding tests on WDB620 steel were carried out and then it was compared with the performances of NK-HITEN 610 U2 steel produced by NKK Company in Japan.

This research analyses the material with experiments,and does some techniques optimization for the crankshaft shell casting,finding the range of the quantity of the trace elements in the ductile iron and adequate temperature of casting;technical standards and the selection of coated sand.
