电影导演。浙江杭州人。1922年从影。抗战期间在重庆参与创建中国电影制片厂。抗战胜利后回沪参与创建昆仑影业公司。建国后曾任文化部电影局艺术委员会和技术委员会主任、中国影协常委。一生编导故事片20余部。主要有《保卫我们的土地》、《八千里路云和月》、《新儿女英雄传》等。著有《电影艺术在表现形式上的几个特点》。
