山东长清人。中共党员。1989年毕业于解放军艺术学院文学系。1975年赴巢县庙集公社庙张村插队务农，1978年应征入伍，历任解放军二炮工建三一二团战士、文书、班长，二炮五十四基地教导大队预提干部班学员，二炮工建三一二团排长、干事、副指导员，二炮政治部干部任免处干事，《解放军报》总编室、文化部编辑。1984年开始发表作品。1991年加入中国作家协会。
