關於德國牧羊犬
聰明機警英勇的形象，是我們對此犬種的印象，牠的第一次展出是在1882年德國漢若威的展覽會上，於第一次世界大戰時德軍的軍籍記錄中，就有48000隻德國牧羊犬的服勤記錄，然而德軍在歐洲戰場的遺禍，卻降臨德國狼犬，世界大戰後受到德軍蹂躪的法國和比利時等國家的人民，雖然很喜歡牠，但是討厭牠的名字前有德國一字，為了擺脫德國的陰影，德國牧羊犬一度被改稱為「阿爾薩斯牧羊犬犬」。
特徵
黑色的眼睛、、寬耳根尖耳朵、吻部的長度佔頭部的一半。具強壯及有力的前後腿，分短毛、長毛、剛毛類型，長毛較少在台灣偶而可以看到，牠的身體肌肉發達，胸部厚實，背部曲線美，尾巴蓬鬆下垂，在體型、活動力和性能方面，牠們都是狗兒之中的佼佼者，具聰明的智慧，對主人忠心，贏得了許多家庭喜愛。
