Purpose: To establish an animal model of TCM jaundice of Yang-Huang.

ObjectiveTo observe the therapeutic efficacy on chronic severe hepatitis B (CSH) patients of Yanghuang and Yinhuang syndrome type by principles of cooling-blood and detoxicating combined with clearing-heat and resolving dampness (PA) or with strengthening-Pi and warming-yang (PB), respectively.

Results :Of the 66 patients,30 cases showed Yang-Huang,the main obstructive reasons of which included bile duct stones,inflammatory stenosis and congenital cyst;36 cases showed Yin-Huang,the main obstructive reasons were bile duct carcinomas,ampullary carcinomas or pancreatic carcinomas.

It is good at treating oncotic ulcer of YANG syndrome.

After the theory of Yin-Yang jaundices was put forward in the Song Dynasty, it did not smoothly become the major one among jaundice theories, as what the scholars of the history of TCM had thought before.
