金沙铺地距涪源桥约1338米。由于碳酸盐在这里失去了凝埂成池的地理条件,因此漫坡的水浪,在一条长约1.3米的脊状斜坡地上翻飞,并在水底凝结起层层金黄色钙华滩,好似片片“鳞甲”,在阳光照耀下发出闪闪金光,是黄龙又一罕见奇观。这里最宽的地方约122米,最窄处约40米。据科学家认定,金沙铺地是目前世界上发现的同类地质构造中,状态最好、面积最大、距离最长、色彩最丰富的地表钙华滩流。
