length estimation apparatus
长度估计器(l ength estimation apparatus)一种既可测定线段长度的闽限，也可以进行面积估计的仪器。在心理物理方法中，通常通过测定长度差别闽限来学习平均差误法。使用时，根据实验目的在较硬的纸上画好线条(或其他图形)，然后把其插入槽中。实验时将一端的活动盖放在一定位置，使线条呈现出一定的长度(或使图形呈现出一定的面积)，让被试调节另一端的活动盖，复制出那一长度(或面积)，或者复制出该长度(或面积)的几分之一或几倍。两端线段长度可在仪器背面的刻度上读出，其精确度为1毫米。实验时要注意的是使两端的照度要相同，防止有阴影。仪器应放在被试的正前方，线条(或图形)应与被试的双眼同高。重复测试多次，两端线段的差异平均数可作为其差别闽限的估计值。 (全志成撰林仲贤审)
