Research on Cross-national Multiple Identities;

The problem of transnational nationalities will become a major international issue of the new age, which will influence the international relations.

In this article,the author thinks that all kinds of contradictions and conflicts that have caused the problem of the transnational nationalities in the world today usually affect the main body nationality and mother national culture.

Nowadays,transnational ethnic groups is one of the nascent issue.

There are many transnational ethnic groups in China,and most of them lie inthe west of China.

The analysis of the varieties of transnational ethnic groups can be based on their history, existing ways of life, settlement mode, national identity, language assimilation, etc.

Proceeding from the researches into cross-border ethnic groups in South China and Southeast Asia, this paper makes a general analysis of the cross-border ethnic groups across the world, and argues that the objective of investigating into peaceful transnational residence is to let these ethnic groups share their history and culture in a peaceful environment.

Based on a review of the relevant domestic research findings, this paper summarizes the studies on cross-border ethnic groups done in China from the perspectives of history, present and future.

Based on the analysis of the history and present of the cross-border ethnic groups along the northwestern borderline of China, this paper argues that the contemporary cross-border ethnic groups are closely related to international relations and the features of the modern world, hence the need to expand the perspective in studying the various issues concerning cross-border ethnic groups.
