巢城东北十余里汤山山麓，常流不息的泉水，以它特有的神奇力，引人来观。半汤泉水有二，一冷一热。泉最高可达七十一度。泉水由地下徐徐流出，水流不息。冬晨，泉流经塘沟，水面上雾气宛如片片白云来到人间，令人恍恍,如入胜境. 半汤泉水冷热合流，洁明清澈，出地一般在55摄氏度。内含活性元素30多种，其中每毫升含80 -120埃曼氡气，在国内罕见。经国家权威科研机构鉴定，半汤既产沐浴温泉，又产饮用矿泉水，品位上乘，质量优良，可与驰名世界的八大饮用矿泉水媲美，具有极珍贵的开发价值。泉水对50多种疾病有明显疗效，尤对运动系统、神经系统和皮肤病的疗效最佳。据《寰宇记》载：“凡抱疾者饮浴此汤，无不效验”。 男女老少，在此浴后无不有“恍如肌骨换”的轻松快感，因而古人称誉半汤为“九福之地”。
