| 大米草 Spartina anglica 禾本科多年生草本。原产英国沿海地区。中国江苏、浙江、广东等沿海已有引种，生长良好。秆直立，具发达根状茎。叶舌具一圈细密纤毛；叶片线状披针形。圆锥花序由10余枚直立穗状花序组成；穗轴顶端成刺芒状；小穗狭披针形，含1两性小花，长达2厘米，脱节于颖之下；颖被短柔毛，第二颖与小穗等长，第一颖稍短，具1脉；外稃具3脉，有短柔毛（见图）。它具有迅速蔓延的根状茎，能促淤造陆，围海造田，保护堤岸；还可用作饲料；是一类能耐旱的高光效四碳植物，在滨海地区很有发展前景。
