High solid content and stable soap-free emulsion of styrene(St) and butylacrylate(BA) was prepared in the presence of ionic hydrophilic monomer,nonionic hydrophilic macromolecule and amphiphilic monomer.

An amphiphilic polymer,acryl amide(AM)/vinyl acetate(VAc)/butyl acrylate(BA)was synthesized with the effects of amount of AM as well as the ratio between VAc and BA on surface tension,stability against centrifugation,emulsifying power and foaming power of the product examined.
