    　　一种精密测量直线距离的仪器，简称比长仪。在天文工作中，用于测量底片上谱线间的距离。比长仪的量程200毫米,测量精度可达±1.5微米。仪器分三部分:①精密导轨。②置片台，是一块可沿导轨移动的钢板，它的一侧装着一条透明毫米尺，另一侧放待测底片。③两架固定联结的显微镜：一架用来对准光谱线（或物体），称为对准显微镜；另一架用来对准毫米尺上的刻线和读数，称为读数显微镜。移动置片台，当对准显微镜从对准一条谱线到另一条谱线时，读数显微镜对准的毫米尺上的二次读数之差，即为谱线间的距离。根据阿贝提出的原理,只要待测对象和毫米尺精确地位于同一高度,置片台的滑动误差就不会影响测量精度。为了消除对准误差,可将底片转180°再测量一遍。熟练的测量者用这种仪器测量不对称的谱线，精度往往比自动测量仪器还高。用比长仪测量底片上待测谱线和比较谱线的位置，根据经验公式就可以计算出待测谱线的波长。
