字隐之，越之余姚杜氏。师龙泉清序。皇祐普度具戒，习教于四明赟，遍历诸方，天竺明智、雷峰广慈，皆登门入室，孜孜扣击。余二十年，学成还里，众强住持，确然不就。卒以耆旧，督迫讲演，受经行辈悦服，掩关谢事，专勤净业，诵《法华》五千部，普贤、弥陀各万卷，佛号无算。崇宁元七月示疾，十九日告其徒曰：“吾生净土时已到矣。当乘金刚台，随佛西迈。愿克力进修，可得相见。”澡身，结印坐逝，二十五日火化西郭，而灰骨间舌根数珠俨然，此诵持之效也。其徒葬于寺之西峰，寿七十六，腊五十二。大智律师以其弟覃悦僧首，尝预室洒为铭其塔。
