取性道者。晋代人也。失其乡里姓氏。居取性院。即今王子寺东北兰若。改名北福圣院。是也。师内行莫测。外相粗鄙。衣唯弊衲。食且众残。不染声名。人钦若圣。乡川供施。无不乐输。缁素游山。瞻济无择。常操利刀一口入山。见蛇即斩。唯云。取性取性。由此故名取性道者。每诫弟子云。汝山采柴。若见蛇时。慎勿打杀。蛇报果重。千年少一。更重受之。弟子云。若果尔者。师何斩之。师云。咄。尔何知也。老僧斩之。令其取性。即解其蛇报。尔等不能。岂同吾也。师之密行如此。后终于本院云耳
