中国自1979年经济体制改革以来，比价关系向合理方向发展，工农业产品价格剪刀差显著缩小，农产品内部比价和工业品内部比价的变化也有利于国民经济发展。但到80年代后半期,由于出现了日益严重的通货膨胀,各种商品价格全面上涨，一些正在趋向合理的比价关系向着相反方向变化，出现了一定程度的比价复归。例如工农业产品比价。为了改变农产品价格偏低、工业品价格偏高的状况，在改革中农产品价格上升幅度应大于工业产品，即农副产品收购价格总指数上升幅度应大于农村工业品零售价格总指数的上升幅度。以农副产品收购价格总指数为100的工农业商品综合比价指数,1978～1988年为56.6，即工业品换农产品数量降低了43.4％；而随后两年发生了逆转,1988～1990年这一指数为110.9，即工业品换农产品数量增加了10.9％。说明这两年工农产品价格剪刀差又有所扩大，工农产品比价出现复归现象。
