In Mashi Wentong（马氏文通）, the rule of “a Chinese character without fixed parts of speech” can be manifested by the character with several parts of speech and the character adopted to represent homophones.
《马氏文通》“字无定类”表现为一字数类和字类假借，这两种表现形式中的“字”可能分属于一字同词或者一字异词。

补充资料：《殷虚文字类编》
甲骨文著录。商承祚编。商承祚为罗振玉弟子。罗氏于1915年著《殷虚书契考释》一书，1916年又将不认识的一些甲骨文字编为《殷虚书契待问编》。后来与王国维又增释了不少字。《 殷虚文字类编 》就是根据罗、王两家之说，并略参己见，按《说文解字》分部次序将《考释》中的文字重行编次而成的。甲骨文一字异形的很多,本书都一一列出，颇便检阅。(见彩图)
