本文从《宋史》、《文献通考》、《古今图书集成》与各级方志中钩稽出宋代梓州与中江洪水的资料，并按年代顺序编排，对其加以史源学考察；且对其中的方志洪水资料年代记载的讹误进行考辨，以期还历史以本来面目；在此基础上，对宋代梓州与中江洪水的概况和规律作出归纳与概括。
