   快跑过程中依次跨过一定数量栏架的田径运动项目。正式比赛项目有男子110米栏、女子100米栏和男女400米栏,各个项目的栏架数目、高度和栏间距离各不相同。
   跨栏跑的起跑一般都采用蹲踞式起跑方法。110米栏、100米栏多数人起跑后用8步跨第一栏。400米栏起跑后跑20~24步跨第一栏。起跨点距栏架2~2.2米。起跨前身体重心要高,上体稍前倾,摆动腿要高抬,大小腿折叠,摆动腿异侧臂屈肘前摆,另一臂留在体侧。蹬地结束时上体和起跨腿成一直线。腾空后摆动腿的小腿及异侧臂伸向栏板,身体形成大幅度劈叉动作。当摆动腿移过栏板时,起跨腿屈膝外展,小腿收向臀部以快速弧形动作跨过栏架,前臂向后摆动,另一臂肘前摆。伸直的摆动腿在栏后1.3~1.5米处用前脚掌着地。各个跨栏项目的过栏技术基本相同。跨低栏架时上体不需要较大前倾,跨弯道栏时最好用右腿做起跨腿。栏间跑要保持高速及正确的动作节奏。110米栏和100米栏栏间跑为3步,400米栏栏间男子用13~15步,女子用15~17步。如跑双数步时必须两腿都掌握过栏技术。根据训练水平和运动员的体力情况,400米栏间跑可增减1~2步。
