白领工人
白领工人西方社会对以从事脑力劳动为主、不需要做大量体力劳动的知识型工人的称谓。源于这些人穿着白衬衫上班，工作时衣着整洁，故得此名。西方学者在划分白领工人的标准上存在分歧，大致有3种意见:第一种是以从事脑力劳动或体力劳动作为划分标准，把从事脑力劳动的教师、医生、律师和企业的高级职员等称为白领工人;第二种是按职业划分，把专业技术人员、经理、销售员、办事员等称为白领工人;第三种是以直接生产或间接生产为划分标准，把打字员、速记员、文书等称为白领工人口白领工人的工作条件和经济收入较之其他工人为好，而且免除了繁重的体力劳动，但他们并未拥有生产资料，所以仍属工人阶级的一部分。随着科学技犬的发展.这部分人在雇佣劳动者巾所占的比例不断扩大。例如美国白领工人占职工总数的比例，1920年为17.6%，1956年为50%，1983年为61%。
