解释字义的书。明末清初学者黄生撰。黄生字扶孟，别号白山,安徽歙县人。生于明熹宗天启二年(1662),卒年不详。 在明为诸生，入清未仕。 精于六书训诂之学。《字诂》凡一卷，共 107条，取经史群书语词，考辨其音义，订正讹误，与颜师古《匡谬正俗》相类。黄生为学极有根柢，能从声音上考察字义，不为文字形体所囿，在明代学者中极为突出。如谓"伏羲"与"包羲"古音相同，从"分"之字都有乱义，"怎"为"作么"合音，"咱"为"自家"合音等等，都精确不易，对清代的汉学家不无影响。黄生还著有《义府》一书，较《字诂》尤为渊博精深。见《义府》。
