印度直升机训练学校设在哈根培特，成立于1962年。最初建在阿拉哈巴德，称为直升机训练队。1966年并入佐德普尔飞行学院。1970年，当该飞行学院拟定并入空军学院时，直升机训练队又分出，并改称现名。1973年10月迁至哈根培特。
印度直升机训练学校主要任务是为空军、陆军和一些友好国家培训直升机驾驶员。此外，学校还担负着驾驶要员专机、运送伤员、救灾等任务。学校现有12架"印度豹"直升机和6架"猎豹"直升机。每个飞行员都要进行5个月的基本飞行训练，约飞45小时。学校在校教员50人。该校校长为上校军衔。
