On basis of a textual research on the changes to the book Zhuang Zi in history in respects of edition and text, it has been found that when Zhuang Zi of over 100,000 words is mentioned the ancient edition of Zhuang Zi comprising 52 chapters is referred to and that the modern edition of Zhuang Zi comprising 33 chapters consists of no more than 65,000 words.
文章通过考证《庄子》版本、篇章内容在历史上的变迁,指出《庄子》"十余万言",系指五十二篇古本《庄子》而言,而今本三十三篇本《庄子》不过65000字左右。
