创造动机说(th eory of ereative一motivation)有关创造动机的学说主要有:(1)升华说。5.弗洛伊德对艺术天才的创造动机进行研究,他认为艺术家的幻想是在创造一种未来的情境,以满足其早期未曾满足的性愿望。有些心理学家认为科学创造程序与艺术创造程序实质上是相同的,其动机也是性心理的升华。升华说的观点与很多人牺牲自己努力创造的现实是不相符的。但从历史上看弗洛伊德是最早研究创造动机的心理学家。(2)自我实现说。A.H.马斯洛等人认为自我实现是最高层次的需要,是将人所固有的潜能充分发挥,从而创立完美的人格。创造行为的求新动机是不愿因袭拘泥,是以求不平凡为目的,而追求创造价值的动机是企求产生出类拔萃的产品。(3)过度补偿说。A.阿德勒认为人总是力图从低劣地位上升到优越地位,从失败到成功,从自卑到优越和完美,这是人类基本的活动动力。自卑能激起人向上进取的愿望,以期达到较高的水平,这种克服自卑和改变低劣地位的心理过程即为补偿作用。他认为人的创造行为的内部动力主要来自“追求优越”的动机。(4)偿还说。费尔巴恩(Fairbairn,w.R.n.)认为互相矛盾的动机使人遭受严重的心理冲突,为解决心理冲突,艺术就被用以升华或压抑攻击和毁坏的冲动,以满足超我的理想,这种偿还作用是艺术创造的基本原则。该学说在创造心理学中的贡献在于唤起人们注意攻击性在创造动机上的重要性。 (张明撰租们吴万森审)
