佉卢字母 古代印度的字母之一。意译为“驴唇”。广泛使用于印度西北部、巴基斯坦、阿富汗、中国的新疆以及前苏联的中亚地区。使用范围也很大，货币、金属铭文、石碑、写经的桦树皮上都有这种字母。它由阿拉伯字母演变而来，其原型可能在公元前500年间已传入波斯(今伊朗)，公元前4世纪由波斯统治者带入北印度。字母自右向左横行书写，与阿拉伯文相同。在中国新疆考古发掘中已发现不少佉卢字母残卷。
