江西省安远县的林业防护人员近日在三百山国家重点风景名胜区进行生物资源普查时，发现了3只世界珍蝶——宽尾凤蝶。
这2只宽尾凤蝶时而在灌木丛中飞舞，时而在花草丛中采集花蜜。宽尾凤蝶体翅呈黑色，散生着黄白色鳞片，翅脉间有线形加厚鳞片，后翅外综边具新月型红斑，臀角各有一枚环形红斑与一枚新月型红斑，在阳光照射下荧光闪闪。被采集标本的一只宽尾凤蝶翅展130毫米，体长23毫米。
据安远县林业森防人员介绍，宽尾凤蝶全体黑色，胸部和翅基多黑绒毛。前翅狭长，鳞片层粉薄，后翅基部至中室端鳞片呈黑褐色，是中国特产的珍稀蝶。由于其尾突特别宽阔，上面分布两条翅脉，被视为世界珍蝶之一。宽尾凤蝶生活于常绿落叶阔叶林中，一年二代，以蛹在树干或杂草上越冬，幼虫取食马桂木、厚朴等树叶；成虫飞翔力强，有吸花蜜和溪水习性。
安远是东江的源头，是全国无公害生产示范基地县。当地有关专家认为，在安远能发现宽尾凤蝶，与这个县历来注重生态环境保护有比较密切的关系。
