In the first year under Shaosheng Regime(1905) of Emperor Zhezong of the Song Dynasty,Huang Tingjian was banished from the court to the post of "Biejia" of Fuzhou(now Fuling of Chongqing) under the charge of false compiling of Record of Shenzong and then settled in Qianzhou(now Pengshui of Chongqing).
黄庭坚曾于宋哲宗绍圣元年(1095),因编修《神宗实录》失实的罪名,被贬为涪州(今重庆涪陵)别驾,安置黔州(今重庆彭水),后又被移置到戎州(今四川宜宾),一直到元符三年(1100),才遇赦东归。

释智拔。姓张襄阳人。幼年清悟雅好道法。六岁出家。初为闰师弟子。闰顾有济器。乃携付哲法师。哲亦襄川僧望。具之别传。初诵法华。日通五纸。经中理路略有规度。惟曰。斯经诸佛出世之大意也。一人一道非弘不通。誓毕依持开悟蒙俗。周听乃洽。承帝京上德吉藏法师四海标领三乘明匠。寻诣奉旨欣击素心。首尾两遍命令覆述。英俊鼓言无非乱辙。藏亲临坐。拔问众曰。一乘为两。遂分为三。亦可一乘为两。分为三两。众无敢答。藏曰。拔公此问深得旨矣乃嘱累。大法必在机缘。于是还襄。会贼徒扰攘无由讲悟。昼藏夜伏私蕰文义。后值清平住耆阇寺。恒在常济。讲法华经年别五遍。门人法长后生颖萃。见住梵云领徒承业。贞观十四年九月十七日。于清信士张英家。宿集竖义开法华题。或问今昔开覆三一之旨者。答对如风响。解悟启时心。便告棱法师曰。智拔答毕须弥来难。尽皆神俊。诣八方乡里大德檀越等相别。时不测其言也。遂即潜然。迫而察之。已迁化矣。合境玄素嗟惋惊恸。颜状如生。加坐坚正蒋王躬临烧香供养。赠物百余段。墓所设五千僧斋。春秋六十八矣。
