This article introduces the theory of cohesion and coherence as well as varieties of structure models of discourse unit with the intention of guiding language learners,on the basis of discourse unit as the foreground and outset of text analysis,how to write structural compositions which take discourse unit as the essential element so as to foster learners writing ability.

As a new research subject,Chinese text structure annotation faces various challenges,such as establishing the theoretical framework,defining basic discourse units,setting up the abstract Chinese text structure,etc.
