金兰湾市
金兰湾市 位于庆和省金兰县。金兰湾不但是越南最好的天然港湾，而且是世界上著名的天然良港之一。该港湾深入内陆17公里，宽6公里，面积100多平方公里，湾中水深16—25米，最深处32米。金米湾的四周几乎全是群山环抱，这些群山挡住了海上的风暴和波浪。因此，每当大海里风起浪高时，金兰湾内基本上是风平浪静。
金兰湾位于太平洋到印度洋的通道上，地处巴士海峡到马六甲海峡航线的中心、香港到新加坡航线的中心，因而战略地位十分重要。1965年，美国为了扩大侵略印度支那，动用了近万名的工兵部队，用了整整一年的时间，花了1．3亿多美元，把金兰湾建成一个巨大的海陆空联合军事基地和后勤基地。美国撤出以后，金兰湾在1976年以后的10多年期间又变成了苏联军舰供油基地—及军用物资运送基地。该港湾水深湾阔，远洋巨轮可以进出，港湾可停泊拥有成百艘军舰的舰队，包括航空母舰在内。有铁路和公路与通向南北的交通要道相连，交通十分便利。苏联撤出后，越南计划把该港湾更好地为国防及经济建设服务。
