【伦敦国际证券交易所]亦称“伦敦证券交易所”。英国最大的证券交易所。世界著名的证券交易所之一。其前身是17世纪中叶伦敦城内的露天证券交易市场。1773年在伦敦柴思胡同的约纳森咖啡馆中，证券商们正式组建了伦敦证券交易所;但直到18眼年在英格兰银行附近的伦敦证券交易所新大厦落成开业，才得到英国政府的正式承认。该证券交易所采取会员制组织方式，最高决策机构是理事会。在伦敦证券交易所上市的证券主要有英国政府公债、外国政府公债以及各类公司证券等，是目前世界最大的“金边证券”市场。
