【来源】
为薯蓣科植物黄独叶腋中的珠芽。植物形态详"黄药子"条。
【采集】
7～8月成熟时采收。
【药材】
珠芽呈圆球形，径约2厘米。外皮棕褐色，上有淡棕色、细小之颗粒状突起，径约1毫米。除去外皮后，显青绿色，内肉呈黄白色，新鲜的切开后断面有粘液渗出，片刻即渐转深黄色及至淡黄色。味微苦。
【性味】
《福建民间草药》："辛，寒，有小毒。"
【功用主治】
治百日咳，咳嗽，头痛。 《福建民间草药》："生用催吐，解诸药毒，熟用治热咳。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，2～4钱；磨汁或浸酒。外用：切片贴。
【选方】
①治百日咳：鲜狗嗽子三至五钱，切片，酌加冰糖，开水炖一小时，饭后服，日服二次。(《福建民间草药》) ②治咳嗽：黄独零余子一钱五分至三钱。水煎服。(广州部队《常用中草药手册》) ③解诸药毒：鲜狗嗽子和开水磨汁一盏，用开水送服，可催吐，以污物吐尽为止。(《福建民间草药》) ④治头痛：鲜狗嗽子切成薄片，贴在太阳穴。(《福建民间草药》) ⑤治食道癌、子宫癌、直肠癌：黄独干珠芽十两，切片，62度白酒三斤，装入小口陶罐内，石膏封口，糠火慢烧二小时，或将陶罐放入锅内，慢火蒸二小时，提出陶罐，稍冷后放入冷水中浸七天七夜，过滤即得。成人每日50毫升，少量频饮，以不醉为度。(《福建中草药》)
