This paper makes a brief analysis of the influences culture and society have on the associative meanings of a few English words and their Chinese " Equivalents", and of the differences between the associative meanings of them,which has come to the final conclusion that learning a language can never be isolated from understading its culture,and the two can,in fact,benefit from each other.
