古典诗歌正式体类以外的各种各样的诗体。这些诗多把字形、句法、声律和押韵加以特殊变化，成为独出心裁的奇异之作，一般带有文字游戏性质。明代徐师曾《文体明辨》说："按诗有杂体：一曰拗体，二曰蜂腰体，三曰断弦体，四曰隔句体，五曰偷春体，六曰首尾吟体，七曰盘中体，八曰回文体，九曰仄句体，十曰叠字体，十一曰句用字体，十二曰藁砧体，十三曰两头纤纤体，十四曰三妇艳体，十五曰五杂俎体，十六曰五仄体，十七曰四声体，十八曰双声叠韵体，十九曰问答体，皆诗之变体也。"实际上可以归为杂体诗类的远不止上述这些。诸如藏头诗，神智体，辘轳体等等。杂体诗多为汉魏六朝时文人所创制，虽表现出一定的巧思和驾驭文字的能力，但"终非诗体之正"（明代吴讷《文章辨体序说》），一般不能列为正规的文学作品。
