Starting from the description of Badashanren s life, this thesis analyzes his painting from two aspects as the expression on spirit and characteristic expression by formal languages, and specifically analyzes his works from several aspects: sense of tragedy, expression of humanity and characteristics, symbolism, and characteristic expression on composition, shape as well as brush and ink.
