中国宋代贮藏图书的官署。唐太宗贞观中设崇文馆，为太子学馆，置学士等官，掌管东宫经籍图书，以教授诸生。北宋建立后，沿袭唐代旧制，以汴京(今开封市)之昭文馆、史馆、集贤院等总为崇文院。院内东廊为昭文书库;南廊为集贤书库;西廊为史馆书库 (又分经、史、子、集四库)。共藏正副本图书8万多卷。又抽取珍善藏本别建秘阁，分设"内藏西库"，进一步扩大藏书。真宗大中祥符八年(1015)，崇文院失火，损失严重。之后陆续征集，典藏又有所恢复。仁宗景祐间(1034～1037)，王尧臣、张观、欧阳修、宋庠、宋祁诸人奉诏整理图籍，编撰《崇文总目》,著录四部图书凡30669卷。其中每类图书皆有叙录，每种书皆有解题，是中国较早的解题书目。
