In order to awaken and stimulate patriots fighting wills against those of aristocrats of the Qing dynasty, Su Man-shu copies and extracts 17 righteous monks, martyr women, and patriots fighting deeds from "New Records of Celebritie Words in Guangdong", "The Dynasty of Nanming s Unofficial History ", and "The Biographies of Ming dynasty" etc, edits and issues "Records of Ghosts in Linghai".
为了唤醒和激励革命志士反对满清贵族的斗志,苏曼殊从《广东新语》、《南明野史》、《明史·列传》等著作中抄录、摘录了明末广东地区十七位义僧、烈女和志士抗清斗争的事迹,编辑并发表了《岭海幽光录》。

经上禅堂、金沙泉，即达神光岭。岭的顶峰有金乔觉的夏塔和肉身宝殿。相传在为金乔觉建造墓塔时，岭上夜间“发光如火”，故名“神光岭”。
游神光岭及肉身宝殿，要登陡直如梯、有铁索扶手的九九八十一级台阶，游人们虽一步一喘气，仍然拼足气力，以一睹肉身宝殿而后快。
