The proper approach to self-cultivation and social education is moral meditation, which both Confucianism and Taoism advocate though their aims differ, in that Taoism aims to enter the realm of "naturalness" whereas Confucianism aims to rid people of selfishness and cultivate a stronger sense of social responsibility.
