高原冰雪运动训练基地
长白山高原冰雪运动训练基地深藏于长白山的峰峦之中，海拔高度为1640—1820米，气温常在-15°c—-25°c之间，总占地面积12万平方米，是我国目前为数不多的集滑冰、滑雪训练和体育旅游于一体的综合性基地。每年的10月至第二年5月初都是冰雪旅游、运动训练的极佳时节。
基地共有冰雪运动训练场地十几处。高山滑雪场地分布较广。位于天池公路左侧半山腰的高山滑雪场，线路为350米，平均坡度为20度。一条单座缆车索道为运动员提供了训练方便条件。小天池滑雪场、温泉滑雪场都是令冰雪旅游者和滑雪初学者神往的地方。越野滑雪和冬季两项场地线路迂回穿行在密林深处，分别有5公里线路和3公里线路。线路的登高差完全符合比赛规则要求。起、终点设在冰场上，视野开阔、线路清晰。射击场和处罚圈分别设在两弯道的内弧里。场地的设备和通讯设备都符合现代化要求，多次受到冰雪运动界专家和外国教练的好评。
速度滑冰场设在开阔而平坦的松林中。周围高高的林墙，形成了天然的防风屏障。
冰场经过科学的技术方法处理后，冰质纯净，滑度好，有许多冰上健儿在这里突破了全国和世界纪录。
