Discussion about the advantages of recitation of lexical phrases

It has long been assumed by the structuralists that syntactic rules are the major factor in language acquisition,however,the lexical approach has introduced a new definition to the lexis and advocators hold that lexical phrases,or "prefabricated chunks," not traditional grammar,should be the basis that learners internalize the language.

The thesis elaborates contrastive analysis in English Teaching in four aspects: the CA (contrastive analysis) of English and Chinese attribute position; the CA of English phrasal verb; the CA of surface structure and the deep structure of the sentence patterns; the CA of the prior and the later sentence patterns with the method of sentence pattern transformation.

This paper attempts to use "just" as a medium to study the interweaving relations and set relations when modal verbs, just and phrasal verbs appear in a sentence at the same time, and explores a new way toward lexical study.

However,phrasal verb study is a most difficult and troublesome lexical area for English learners.
