中国最早的外商投资的制片机构。1909年由美国商人B.布拉斯基经营，先后在上海拍摄短片《西太后》和《不幸儿》，在香港拍摄短片 《瓦盆伸冤》 和《偷烧鸡》。1912年，由上海南洋人寿保险公司经理等人接办，1913年，张石川、郑正秋等组织新民公司承包了亚细亚影戏公司的编剧、导演、雇用演员等工作。两年内完成了《难夫难妻》、《活无常》、《五福临门》、《一夜不安》、《老少易妻》等10多部短故事片，还拍了新闻《上海战争》和根据文明戏改编的《茶花女》。为中国早期电影的发展作出了一定贡献。1915年因第一次世界大战，德国胶片来源断绝而结束摄制工作。
