法祥，字瑞光，姓周，绍兴嵊县人。少有出世志，参啸岩老人。啸岩示以念佛法门。遂出家，居南岳侧刀峰，影不出山，专志念佛，以豆记数，日夜精勤，胁不至席，人称为豆儿佛。未几，成丛林。万历三十八年，二月六日，索浴礼佛，告众曰，瓜子熟也，正落蒂时，众莫喻者。入室趺坐，令众唱佛名，合掌而逝。峰前闻音乐声。（憨山梦游集）
