社会主义国家中组织地区间商品流通的合理形式。即按照经济区域的客观要求，不受行政区域限制来组织地区间的商品流通。
经济区域是历史形成的，它是通过密切的商品联系把有关地区的生产和消费融合为一体的区域。每个经济区域都有交换中心，区域内部的和区域对外的商品交流，大多要通过交换中心。经济区域不以行政区域为限，往往跨越行政区域，依商品流通自然形成的方向、路线和范围而定（见经济中心）。
按经济区域组织商品流通,其主要内容有:①按商品合理流向来组织商品流通。即越过行政区域的界限，使商品得以按合理流向在地区间通行无阻。②按经济区域设置批发机构，撤除或自然淘汰一切不必要的批发机构，形成合理流通网络，开展多渠道流通。③按商品必要流通环节，完成商品流通过程。力求减少一切不必要的环节，以缩短商品流通渠道和搞活商品流通。④按照经济区域经济地组织商品运输。采取合理的路线，缩短运输路程，选择合理的运输工具和运输方法来组织商品运输。要消除按行政区域组织的各种不合理运输，如相向运输、迂回运输等。
