距都兰香日德西以西150公里，是一块镶嵌在柴达木盆地里的绿洲。从109国道向北拐，可达诺木洪乡和诺木洪农场。 诺木洪农场已有40多年的历史了，是青海省的一座劳改农场，整个农场南北宽度大概只有三、四公里，但东西长度有近20公里。 柴达木盆地边缘的哈瓦村，是蒙古族聚居区，这里遍地野生的沙棘林，结满红色的沙棘果。沙棘是沙生植物，是生命异常顽强的灌木植物，耐干旱、耐盐碱，它不仅可以抵抗风沙，还成为野生动物的庇护地。
