波罗古泽位于江达县波罗乡境内，金沙江支流扎曲河两岸，距县城约50公里，通汽车。这里青山绿水，森林面积大，林木品种多，尤其是有于刻经板的桦木，更是这里特有的树种。据调查，波罗一带能独立刻经板的熟练艺人多达152人。现藏于德格印经院的经板，主要是波罗古泽一带刻工的杰作。波罗古泽的刻工不仅能刻大部头丹珠尔和甘珠尔经，而且也能刻难度很大风马旗和佛像图案。该地刻经历史之长，刻工人员之多，刻工技艺之高，是西藏其它地方少有的，是名符其实的"木刻之乡"。
