The 2D non-linear effective stress FEM and test curve method for calculation of dynamic pore water pressure which was suggested by the second author are applied to analyze the dynamic response of an earth-rockfill dam on thick loess alluvial deposit,with emphasis on the distribution characters of absolute acceleration,dynamic displacement,dynamic stress and dynamic pore water pressure.
