| 铝质岩 aluminous rock 一种富含铝矿物的沉积岩。主要组成矿物是铝的氢氧化物（三水铝石、一水软铝石、一水硬铝石等），其次是石英、玉髓、菱铁矿、方解石及各种粘土矿物。其化学成分特点是Al2O3＞SiO2。风化后多为灰色， 含铁高时为灰褐色，具鱼卵状、豆状结构。当Al2O3＞40％，且Al2O3／SiO2＞2时，则构成铝土矿。按成因可分为两种类型：红土和红土型铝土矿；沉积型铝质岩和铝土矿。前者形成于热带或亚热带；后者多形成于海湖盆地。铝土矿可用来提炼金属铝，亦是重要的耐火材料。 |
