| 神农架林区 位于中国湖北省西部，秦岭山系大巴山脉东段。为省直属行政单位。面积3037平方千米，其中保护区770平方千米。人口7.7万，农业人口为主，绝大多数是汉族。原名神龙架，后讹“龙”为“农”，缘于神农氏曾在此搭架采药的传说。1970年析房县、兴山、巴东3县邻界地区设省辖林区，以神农架山得名。后几经宜昌、郧阳地区易属。1973年复属省辖。境内地势高峻，最高处的神农顶有华中第一峰之称。珍奇动植物有多种，有香果树、珙桐、金丝猴、大鲵等。水能资源理论蕴藏量54万千瓦，被省列为山区电气化试点。矿藏有磷、硅石、铜、大理石等。土特产有茶叶、生漆、黑白木耳、药材等。旅游资源异常丰富，有“大三峡不如小三峡，小三峡不如神农架”之说。有天门垭、风景垭、燕子洞等名胜。见神农架国家自然保护区。 |
