| 红安县 位于中国湖北省东北部，倒水上游，大别山南侧，邻接河南省。面积1789平方千米。人口59.66万，以汉族为主。明嘉靖四十二年（1563）由麻城、黄冈、黄陂三县析置黄安县。以“地方安谧，生民安妥”之意得名。1931年12月红四方面军夺取县城后，改为红安。1947年复置黄安县。1952年因纪念鄂豫皖革命根据地和中国工农红军第四方面军于此创建，又改为红安县。矿产资源有萤石、大理石、石英石、水晶石等。萤石远销日本、美国等。以粮食、油料、烟叶、养殖、林特、建材采矿等生产加工配套经营的六大经济支柱正在形成。花生、烟叶、茶叶是当地特产。花生产量居全省前列，天台翠峰茶被评为全省优质茶。中药材桔梗是传统产品。境内是大别山鄂豫皖革命根据地的中心区域，1927年爆发了黄麻起义。1931年红四方面军在此创立。名胜古迹有天台山、止止洞、大圣寺塔等。 |
