| 瑞丽市 位于中国云南省西部，德宏傣族景颇族自治州西南。西北、西南、东南三面与缅甸毗邻。面积 860 平方千米。1991年人口8.33万，有傣 、景颇 、德昂、傈僳 、阿昌 、汉等民族。地处横断山脉高黎贡山余脉的向南延伸部分，地势西北高东南低，山区占全县面积73％。属南亚热带季风气候，年平均温度20℃，年降水量 1394.8 毫米。史称勐卯 。秦汉前属古哀牢地。汉属永昌郡。唐属永昌节度。宋隶大理国腾冲府 。元建麓川路 。明置勐卯安抚司 。民国二 十 一年(1932)改瑞丽设治局 ，1952 年设瑞丽县 。1992 年撤县设市。主要矿藏有煤和铁，还发现铅、锌、绿柱石、独居石等矿产和石灰石 、陶土等 建材 。地热资源 、植物 资源及动物资源丰富。经济以农为主，产稻、大豆、花生、烟草、橡胶、紫胶、甘蔗及多种药材，有制糖、采煤、发电、造纸等工业，边境贸易繁荣。
